Xfinity Edge 2025: Does carrier unlock enable OEM Unlocking, or is the firmware permanently restricted?
I have a Motorola Edge 2025 from Xfinity Mobile. Motorola’s portal generated an unlock key, but OEM unlocking is still greyed out. Motorola says Xfinity firmware may keep OEM unlocking disabled even after network unlock. Can Xfinity please clarify for this model: once officially network-unlocked, does OEM unlocking become available, or is it permanently disabled regardless? I’m seeking an official policy answer, not a workaround.

Click "Sign in" if necessary.
Click the "Direct Messaging" icon.
Click the "Start new conversion" (Pencil and paper) icon.
In the "To:" Line, type "Xfinity Support".
As you type, a drop-down list will appear. Select "Xfinity Support" from that list.
An "Xfinity Support" graphic will replace the "To:" line.
Type your message in the text area near the bottom of the window.
Press Enter to send it.
