Trouble porting numbers Xfinity mobile

Hello, has anyone been in a situation where they have tried to port a phone number back to the original carrier from Xfinity (long family story) and had the number lost? My grandmother is quite worried about her phone number being lost currently, and unfortunately she didn't want to use the Xfinity Mobile compatible phone we got. After trying to port her number back to the original carrier from Xfinity Mobile, they told us that we'd have to wait to port back until the phone we returned reaches the warehouse. Until then, she doesn't have her original phone number which is a huge issue.

Would caution anyone looking to port to / from Xfinity Mobile to be aware of potential snags with lost numbers. Any advice here?

Hello @user_6m545k, thanks for reaching out for help with your port. In most cases, then you are porting a number out, the carrier taking over the number will take care of everything, and you don't need to make any changes to the existing account. The company assuming the number would handle the account cancelation and the port process.

It's very important that the account stay open until the port is completed, or the number may be lost an ineligible to be transferred to a new carrier. Due to account security, our options with Xfinity Mobile accounts are very limited. We're unable to perform any device or account specific requests over this platform.

Have you tried calling or texting 888-936-4968, or reached out to our secure online chat at xfinity.com/xfinityassistant/?channel=xMobile where an Xfinity Mobile expert is available 24/7?
