Transferred from Verizon, was told my phones would be paid off

I recently transferred my plan from Verizon November 6th 2025 on my mothers birthday over to Xfinity because of their promotion they offered me Internet service Peacock / brand new phone. Long story short, I got talked into switching over to Xfinity by the rep at (1902 Southgate rd Colorado Springs CO 80906) I was told by the Rep Xfinity would pay off the rest of the balance of both of my 2 phones if I switched and signed up for their unlimited plan that came with Internet peacock and new phone but just today I received a bill from Verizon for $1,321.51 which is the remaining amount I owed on both of the phones I transferred over. Can someone please explain to me what this scam is all about, and why instead of payment never being directly paid to the account credit/direct payment to Verizon? Please can someone tell me if this is normal for Xfinity to scam there new clients for such a high amount of money?

This needs resolved, thank you

This happened to me as well on October 20, 2025.  I was advised Xfinity would get Verizon to forward the bill to them and Xfinity would pay it off. I waited 2 billing cycles waiting for payment to be made by Xfinity to Verizon, but instead Verizon sent me to collections due to non payment. [Edited: "Profanity/Solicitation"]

Thanks for reaching out to us, we do apologize for any inconvenience or confusion. Generally with the buyout plan when it comes to Xfinity you have to upload us a copy of your Verizon bill and then we send you a gift card for you to be able to pay off your Verizon bill.

Did you upload your Verizon bill to us so we have proof of what is owed on your device through the other carrier?

user_h2a8wd Thank you for the update, and additional information. Our team is here to help in any way we can to help you resolve the issue. To begin, can you please send a Direct Message with your name, and service address?

Click "Sign In" if necessary
Click the "Direct Message" icon
Click the "New message" (pen and paper) icon
The "To:" line prompts you to "Type the name of a person". Instead, type "Xfinity Support" there.
As you are typing a drop-down list appears. Select "Xfinity Support" from that list.
A "Xfinity Support" graphic replaces the "To:" line.
Type your message in the text area near the bottom of the window
Press Enter to send it
