Transfer number

I tried to transfer my phone number to another carrier, but it didn’t go through. It kept saying that my account number was incorrect when I tried to transfer my number. I was wondering if that’s because my mobile plan got canceled today. Is there any way to transfer out my number or keep my phone number?

Did you go through the port out process and receive a pin etc?  You need to do that. Don't cancel the account before porting. I would use the chat or Xfinity app and speak to an agent for assistance.

DreamSayerZ Thank you for sharing these awesome tips and suggestions. You are correct if you plan on transferring a phone number with any provider you must keep that service active in order to transfer (port) the phone number. Keeping the account active means you are the owner of that phone number. Once an account or service ends, the phone number is released and would not be eligible for transferring.
@user_3mbkxd, If the mobile plan was cancelled please let us know and we will work to reopen the account and pull the number back so that you can complete a transfer.

Hey there, user_3mbkxd! Thanks for reaching out on our XFINITY Community forum. We understand it is vital to keep the phone number that you are accustomed to. To be able to keep your same phone number, you must ensure you have not cancelled the XFINITY Mobile account prematurely. Did you try requesting from the other carrier to port out your phone number to start the process before the cancellation date?
