sim card unlock

I have spent the last four days trying to get my phone unlocked so I can switch carriers. They (xfinity) swear that my phone is unlocked but the phone clearly says SIM Locked

Can't you unlock that yourself on your Xfinity phone app? I have toggled mine on and off in the last couple of days since dealing with a SIM swap scam.

I finally got the only competent person at Xfinity to fix it. I was on the phone for almost 2 hours (mostly on hold) Glad I did not hang up
