I haven't had mobile through Xfinity in a few years but recently I bought an old Xfinity phone for my daughter from a garage sale and it was carrier locked but paid off and XFinity mobile including the customer service representative and their supervisor we're very rude the supervisor was very sarcastic which I found very odd she refused to point me in the direction of making a complaint, I had to get in touch with the executive manager and she made it sound like it was going to be easy and they should do it no problem. Few days went by and then she called me and said that they were unable to because they had to follow protocol which meant that the original account holder for that phone had to call and get it carrier unlocked. I have never ever had this much of an issue trying to unlock an old phone that was paid off this is absolutely ridiculous and XFinity mobile needs to reassess their protocols. I do not recommend Xfinity mobile to anyone. Absolutely ridiculous.

Thanks for reaching out to us I do apologize for any inconvenience. When you buy a phone from a third party person you do always want to make sure that they went through their cell phone carrier and got the phone unlocked. Just paying off the phone does not always unlock the phone. So the customer of the phone that was on the Xfinity account they needed to follow these instructions listed on our link https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/eligible-to-unlock-phone to have the phone unlocked,
