Phone salesman duped me into joining Xfinity

Looking for some assistance before going the lawyer route. I had called to fix an internet problem during my move to a new address and was given a good deal- clearly promised via chat with the Xfinity rep that my phones would be paid off to move over. Now I have 4k in collections with Verizon. Anyone have any info? Seeing this pop up frequently these days.
