Phone pay off program

Do xfinity pay off the devise payments in Verizon ? I have gone through their forums and I see a lot of people complaining about they got scammed by xfinity not paying. I wonder anyone got paid for the phone. I wanted to see if this really work or not. If not going to work, I am going to stick with Verizon. Thoughts?
