Phone only sales?

I am trying to find a deal on a phone only, without trade in, as the phone is too old to receive a trade in credit for. I am wanting to trade in a iphone 8 plus for a 15 plus and am being told via the trade in tool (and chat) that the 8 plus is ineligible for trade in. However, apple will accept it as a trade in.

I'm hoping that I am able to receive a trade in credit from xfinity or I'll likely purchase from Apple directly. I'd prefer to purchase from xfinity to keep my business with them but I also need to look at saving money.

The other option would be to receive a discount on the 15+. I don't want to upgrade any lines or add any lines as I don't need that and it won't be cost effective for me.

I feel that I should still be eligible for some sort of discount especially as I've been with xfinity mobile from the beginning.

Please reach out if someone is able to help me with one of these items. I'm looking to make a purchase fairly soon as a Christmas gift.

I know there have been $200 offered as in xfinity awards but unfortunately, I was not looking to purchase at that time.

Thank you.

@Mh826 If Xfinity doesn't want to give you any trade-in for that phone, there's not much you can do here. Other than you mentioned, get it at Apple for a trade in. Since this is a Christmas gift, I recommend you wait until Black Friday. There will be deals everywhere. And Xfinity might have some promos, or a reward deal could appear again.

Hello! Our Black Friday deals have begun. You can check them out at xfinity.com/mobile/learn/deals. There are options for adding lines as well us upgrading existing lines. Our Black Friday deals are going until 12/3. Let me know if you have any questions.

@XfinityTony@Mh826 Unfortunately, this customer doesn't have a qualifying phone for this promo. Xfinity Mobile won't accept his iPhone 8 Plus as trade-in.

We currently have one phone promotion that doesn't require a trade-in, and is available on line upgrades. The Google Pixel 8a is $100 off. Unfortunately, they would not qualify for an Apple promotion unless they added a line. Apple has ended support for the iPhone 8 Plus after 6 years. The current trade-in value for an iPhone 8 Plus (64 GB) is $11.00.

Thank you to those who have commented.

I am not interested in a new or upgraded line. Also, apple quoted several times more than what is mentioned here.

Are there any sales if I were to purchase a phone (iphone 15 plus), again without upgrading or adding any lines? I just want to upgrade the phone. Will any reward discounts be coming out soon?

It's not even the trade in value thats the biggest deal. It's not being able to get a phone at any price other than the full asking price when adding a line can get a huge discount (Up to $1000). However, paying $50/mo for 24  months ($1200) to get a $830 phone free doesn't make sense.

I would think there would be some discount for current customers who have been loyal since the beginning and have recommended and  helped multiple people transition  to xfinity mobile.

Am I out of luck? If so, I may need to start looking elsewhere for other deals. I know there are, or will be, plenty out there for black friday.

Thank you in advance.

Thank you for your response @Mh826, and we appreciate your feedback. We are happy to forward the feedback as we are always looking for ways to improve our customer experience. I am not currently seeing any promotions for purchasing an iPhone without adding a line. If you'd like to review our current device offers further, I have included the following link https://www.xfinity.com/mobile/shop?category=device. We do sometimes offer XFINITY Reward mobile deals however our Rewards do change monthly and differ based on tier status. To check your current eligible Rewards, please sign in to your XFINITY account.

@Mh826 You asked if you are out of luck. I think that likely yes. The days of iPhone deals are pretty much over. And any "deal" you find has strings attached. As you mentioned, paying for an unlimited line for a "free" phone. All the carriers are doing that now. Just like inflation, it's all about increasing profits and sales. Nothing is really free when you look at the fine print. And sadly, most people find that out after they receive their bill!

Your best bet is where you might receive a good % cash back on the purchase with a credit card. Or where your purchase payments can be spread out over X months. And as I mentioned earlier, check for deals on Black Friday, and Cyber Monday.
