New iPhone stolen in transit

I picked up my new iPhone17 from FedEx last night and the box was damaged.  When I opened the box there was no packing slip, the instruction paper was torn and one of the security seals on the back of the phone box was missing.  When I opened up the box the phone was not there.  Only the charging cable.  I called Xfinity to notify them and they gave me a claim #.  I filed a police report.  Does anyone know how long this process takes?  Does Xfinity file the claim with FedEx or do I?  Thanks
