iPhone stuck at FedEx facility for days, conflicting into from support. Need help.
This is my first time ordering a phone through Xfinity Mobile, and honestly it may be my last. I've never dealt with such a complicated phone delivery.
Xfinity ships new phones through FedEx with restrictions on the shipment. Because of that, FedEx can't share any information about the package, and you can't reschedule delivery or request pickup at a nearby location. I've ordered iPhones from Apple many times and picked them up at a nearby facility with no problem, so I don't understand why Xfinity makes this so difficult.
Right after placing my order, I realized I'd be out of town on the delivery date. Support told me they couldn't change the date, but that I could reschedule with FedEx after a failed delivery attempt. I waited for the failed attempt and did exactly that, only for FedEx to tell me the restrictions Xfinity placed on the shipment prevented me from rescheduling.
I called Xfinity back and explained that FedEx wouldn't let me manage the delivery unless Xfinity called in and lifted the restriction. Two or three different representatives told me there were no restrictions and that I could pick the phone up at my local FedEx facility. That wasn't true. I also went to an Xfinity retail store, and they said there was nothing they could do and that the order showed as delivered in their system.
Because of all this incorrect information, I missed three delivery attempts. Had I known the real situation, I would have canceled and reordered for a later date.
Now my phone is in limbo. It has been sitting at a local FedEx facility for 3 to 4 days. Tracking says it will be delivered tomorrow, then the next day comes and it updates to the following day with no movement. One representative told me the phone would be returned, the order canceled, and then I could reorder. That's frustrating enough since the phone is backordered and I wouldn't get it until December, but I can't even do that because the package isn't moving.
I opened an advanced support ticket with Xfinity, and an advanced support agent opened a ticket with FedEx, but I haven't heard anything from either one since.
I've paid for a phone that's just sitting in a FedEx facility, and no one is helping. Xfinity needs better training on deliveries with these restrictions, because I got wrong information from nearly every rep I spoke to. Has anyone dealt with this before, or can someone from Xfinity please help get this resolved?
