Ipad Scam?

Last Year I was moving and looking for internet and Was presented with the free Ipad with internet deal, the contract is now over and I keep getting notifications of autopayment failed and now overdue payments, the ipad is no longer on my account and everything I contact support, they say they do not see the ipad and to ignore the emails? I am worried these (missed payments) will affect me in a negative way, as I am now receiving debt collection text.
I've reached out to chat support 5 times and they continue to tell me account is up to date and in good standing so ignore my issues and keep trying to upsell me on a FREE apple watch.....

I also been reading up on the Ipad scams. If you were part of this scam?, what did you do?

barberson Hello there! Thanks for reaching out and sharing the experience you are having with the ipad your received last year. I'm sorry that you are receiving these notices, and I would be happy to help out. For the customers I helped with the free ipad offer we found that when valid the device offered required you to have and maintain service for at least 36 months. Over the 36 months account credits would be applied monthly making the device free, however if the account was closed the remaining balance of the ipad would become due.
I am wondering if that is what happened in your case as well. We are very well versed with almost all Xfinity services, so you certainly reached out to the right team for help.

Would you please send us a direct message with your name and service address so that we can investigate this matter completely?
I look forward to hearing from you, and we will follow up here with the solution we find.

Here are the detailed steps to direct message us:
Click "Sign In" if necessary
Click the "Direct Messaging" icon
Click the "Start new conversation" (pencil and paper) icon
In the "To:" line, type "Xfinity Support"
As you type, a drop-down list will appear. Select "Xfinity Support" from that list.
A "Xfinity Support" graphic will replace the "To:" line.
Type your message in the text area near the bottom of the window.
Press Enter to send it.
