Internet is soooooo slow

I absolutely hate xfinity. I've had nothing but trouble with both cable TV and internet ever since I started. I'm getting download speeds of 4 mega bits per second 😡They have come out and rewired at least 19 times, and have replaced the cable boxes and modem more times than I can count. I can't wait to ditch xfinity and switch to frontier which has much better and faster internet, they are much cheaper too.

Have you tried any of the steps listed in the following post? How to Troubleshoot Your Xfinity Internet and WiFi connection

My internet has also been terrible  lately. If this isn’t resolved I’m going with RACE next month.

During the first half of February 2026 I have had the same low download speeds with Xfinity, reliably under 100 MBPS (with a plan that promises at least 400 Mbps) and as low a 6 Mbps in recent days. I called Xfinity repeatedly and told them that based on my experience, the problem is theirs not mine (I had restarted and then reset my modem multiple times, checked all cables and connections, etc.).  Their customer support folks repeatedly denied problems were occurring on their end, suggesting that perhaps my 5 year old modem was to blame. Then on the afternoon of February 15, 2026, high speeds suddenly returned (474 Mbps down load, 42 Mbps upload), indicating to me that something in their system changed and their customer service folks are either unable to see the source of problems or are being deceptive about them occurring. Have others had similar experiences?
