IMEI number final say?

I just bought a 2022 Motorola edge plus. I am told it is unlocked for all GSM carriers. When I put in the IMEI number, Xfinity says the phone isn't compatible. Does that mean the phone will not work with Xfinity or am I missing something?

@user_go5py3 It is not compatible. Xfinity Mobile uses the Verizon network which is not GSM.

Wrong, 5g NR (New Radio)..... Verizon's CDMA network was shut down on December 31, 2022..... Xfinity piggybacks off verizon...

Xfinity just doesn't like some phones on their Network even though they actually work and there's absolutely no reason why they can't be used on their Network especially when you can use them on Verizon's network but I don't know when you put in your IMEI number of Xfinity phone on Xfinity's website it's not compatible singles for Verizon phones unlocked phones basically any phone will say it's not compatible unless it's a LTE phone they don't like 5G part on there they try to give you [Edited: "Language"] service if you bring your own device Xfinity [Edited: "Language"] yeah CDMA is dead

@user_n8705i That phone is a Verizon variant according to Motorola, and only works on the Verizon network. It is not supported on any other carrier. Ref; https://en-us.support.motorola.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/156900/~/motorola-edge%2B-carrier-compatibility

@user_go5py3 great question! I suggest visiting the link: https://www.xfinity.com/mobile/learn/byod to check on the compatibility of the phone. If you need a new phone we do have some amazing Black Friday deals going on with the link: https://www.xfinity.com/mobile/shop?category=device
