Global Travel Pass - No capability to monitor daily data usage

I just got off the phone with Xfinity Mobile Customer Support who claimed there is No way to monitor your daily data usage under the Global Travel Pass. Yet, I receive messages telling me I have reached my 512mb daily limit. How do I know this if I can't monitor my daily usage. I can't believe Xfinity does not provide the ability to monitor this.  Any ideas ?

Hey there, user_lyepod! Thank you so much for taking the time to reach out to us here on the Xfinity Forums! I am very sorry to hear about the experience with the data usage while traveling abroad. Global Travel Pass includes 512 MB of LTE data per pass per day, then data is available at 2G speeds. Data used while abroad will count toward your By the Gig or Unlimited data option. There is typically a delay in the data updated of about 24 hours before showing up in the Xfinity App. Are you able to view the data usage within the Xfinity App? You can find details regarding the pass here

Thank you for your reply. To answer your question : “Are you able to view the data usage within the Xfinity App?”, the app only shows 3 months of usage. It needs to show ‘daily’ usage since the Global Travel Pass resets daily.

When the 512mb limit is reached, data at 2G speeds renders streaming apps like ‘Google Maps”, (remember we are traveling), inoperable.

So how can a Customer track their daily usage when under the Global Travel Pass?

Thanks for getting back to us, user_lyepod. I have Xfinity Mobile too, and what works for me is selecting: Services > Mobile Lines & Data Usage > and the device in question. However, the usage is not provided on a daily basis. It is reported monthly, and we provide up to three months of records. Another option would be selecting "View Calls and text history" this will take you directly to the Xfinity Mobile website activity section. You should be able to see the detailed data usage by bill cycle there. I am not entirely sure if the Global Travel Pass data is provided separately. If you select, Services > Mobile Lines and Data Usage > Device > View Calls and text history. Do you see the Global Travel Pass Data listed seperately under activity?

No, Global Travel Pass data is not called out separately. Additionally, it only lists one month’s data total, not daily usage. So it is of no use when trying to track your ‘daily’ Global Travel Pass data usage.

This resulting lack of visibility means you never know when you will hit the 512mb limit and then suddenly be switched to 2GB data speed, which stops your streaming capabilities (i.e. Google Maps).

Unfortunately this lack of functionality alone requires me go shopping for another carrier prior to my next travel.

Other XFINITY users of the Global Travel Pass, please be aware of this hidden issue !

I am so sorry to hear that, user_lyepod. I understand where you are coming from and how a daily usage meter would be helpful when using the Global Travel Pass. My sincerest apologies for any inconveniences this may have caused and I will pass this feedback along! We welcome any recommendations that can help improve our customers experience and improve our services overall. Thanks again for your feedback on this matter.
