e SIM impossible to get without paying full price of my IPHone 17 pro

Hi, I bought an iPhone 17 Pro months ago (The day it was released) at Xfinity Crystal Lake, Illinois. I'm French and US legal resident. I have 3 cellphone lines with the highest subscription and the Internet at my house. I hade Comcast/Xfinity internet in San Francisco between 2010 and 2015, and in Chicago starting from August 2021, close to 9 years as a customer. The day I bought the iPhone 17 pro, with a rebate as I was willing to stay with Xfinity, I asked the agent if he could transfer my French e-SIM, already in use in my previous iPhone along with my Xfinity number. He said, you will have to wait for your next trip to France and Ask your service provider to do it. But it will be ok. During this Christmas break I went to France, tried with my service provider to end up with: I can't do it, your device is locked with your USA service provider. Back in Crystal Lake the week after, a different agent says, you'll have to pay the full price of the device to get it unlocked, even if you stay with Xfinity for your US line. It was impossible for us at this time express how we were unsatisfied with all of this, that's the reason why I'm writing here today. This experience is catastrophic for Xfinity, a succession of incompetent and "I don't give a [Edited: "Profanity"] agents. I'm willing to close all my subscriptions after being a long time customer, I'm not willing to accept this kind of behavior and being trapped this way. Thank you for your attention.

user_rw3quy, hello there and thanks for reaching out. I totally understand your frustrations and concerns I do want to appreciate you so much for your years of service. I honestly wouldn't suggest cancelling your services based on this challenge here. I do believe the agent who informed you could have misunderstood the inquiry you had. When a device is unlocked, it does allow you to add eSIMs from other carriers. I also would be more cautious when adding foreign eSIMs using them here in the USA because your fees could be incredibly high due to the constant use of service from their service requiring them to charge you more. In order to add other eSIMs from other carriers, your device would need to be unlocked. I am not sure if you know the qualifications of getting your financed device unlocked, but I want to share this link with you to allow you to be able to view the qualifications on obtaining that "No SIM Restrictions" on your device. Follow this link to learn more on unlocking your device. https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/eligible-to-unlock-phone
