Apple Watch Reward (Scam)

I was also scammed by the Apple Watch Reward. I was never even told the watch was meant to be cellular and was provided free only if connected to the Xfinity network for a monthly fee. So when I refuted the network charge they told me I would have to pay $12.49 per month for 21 months for the “free” watch. That’s $262.29 plus the $18.70 initial fee for an SE watch that sells at Walmart for $159. Please beware of this scam.

user_3128kt Thank you for reaching out via our Xfinity Community Forums and for sharing this. I am really sorry to hear about your experience, and can understand why this would feel upsetting and confusing. This is certainly not the experience we want for our customers, and we appreciate you bringing it to our attention. I’d like the opportunity to review what happened with the Apple Watch promotion, the service requirements, and the charges on your account to make sure everything was explained correctly and applied as intended.

Please send us a direct message with your full name and service address, and we’ll be happy to take a closer look and work with you toward a resolution.

I too had the runaround from Xfinity for three days over this Apple Watch SCAM Promotion. On Feb 11, I spent over an hour “chatting” with Agent Eamon[apparently an Xfinity Sales agent]. Asked how this promotion worked. He explained that I could “go to the membership/rewards page of my account for the PROMO CODE, for  which I could get $300 off a watch, that would cover the cost of the SE 3 Aluminum, and for the watch data line it's $10/mo. You'd get a phone number for it as a standalone watch, and up front we do charge the sales tax, looks like that would be around $19 one time charge.” I go to my Platinum Membership/Reward page-NO  CODE.

So Eamon:”I have a form that I can fill out for the promo code to be put on your account manually, but it takes time, and I just want to make sure that we check everywhere it could possibly be.” So he puts the ticket in. I get a text the next day from Xfinity about that ticket. It is now closed and result: there still is NOT ANY $300 PROMO CODE in my rewards.

After pursuing this the next day it becomes apparent in chatting online with three more Xfinity people, that I never would have been offered this CODE. This deal ONLY works if one ALREADY has a mobile acct w/ Xfinity - THE DEAL IS ONLY VALID TO THOSE WITH ALREADY ESTABLISHED MOBILE ACCOUNTS. No where on the Xfinity site, where this deal is mentioned, is that “pre-existing” criteria specified. What an infuriating waste of my time for three days. Shame on you Xfinity for all of this [Edited: "Language"].
