Apple & Smartwatch Scam

Apparently this is still happening. I'm extremely grateful that things did not align and I followed my intuition last week when an Xfinity rep was trying to set me up with both the Apple & Smartwatch $300 off promotion.

While speaking with the rep, she was very kind and very helpful however, I feel that either the reps are uneducated on all of their offer details or they are choosing to not provide all of the necessary information so that we as a customer can make the best choices for ourselves and our families.

This is a bit disturbing to me that I would be on the phone with a rep whom I'm telling that I have a certain budget at the moment and I'm needing to reduce some services so that I can put food on the table for my family, and they turn around and try to get me setup with something that is going to cause my bill to go back up.

I asked the rep multiple times about future charges and what would this do to my plan and/or bill. Every time I asked (I had a lot of time to ask as I was having trouble accessing the app and the discount codes) she would say there was no charge. I finally gave her the code for one watch and then she proceeds to ask for $24.×× to cover taxes & shipping. I was a bit irritated at this point. I told her I didn't have it at the moment so she has planned to call me back this upcoming Wednesday May 20,2026 to finish the process. I agreed to this as I asked again if this would do anything to my bill and what other costs are associated and I was told that there were no other costs. I would pay the $24.×× per watch to cover taxes & shipping and that would be it.

As we ended the call I began to feel more uncomfortable and uneasy because she was very adamant about getting my correct call back number & a time to call back. I even started to wonder was I really connected to Xfinity that entire call or was it all a scam. I've been thinking about this for a few days and this led me to doing research and finding this thread.

I'm happy that now I know exactly what's going on and that I didn't get wrapped up into this but it's such a shame that so many others have been deceived by a company that we've been so loyal to. This offer is only for Diamond & Platinum members, those who have been with Xfinity for years. I've been with them my entire adult life of 20+ years!! and this is how we're shown appreciation??

*Just putting this out there - for anyone having trouble with getting this issue corrected  properly with Xfinity & would like to seek legal action check into LegalShield. $24/mo covers your entire household with all types of legal disputes. They've helped me multiple times & have literally saved me thousands because of situations like this. They may be able to help you all. Best wishes to you all!

Xfinity get it together.
