Xfinity Home stopped working with new router

Hi,

I recently switched to TP link router for better internet access and it made Xfinity home / touchscreen not work( not compatible). Apparently, security system is only compatible with Netgear WRN 1000 router and the agent couldn’t do anything to help. Is there a possible solution to use security system still? Can I connect WRN 1000 router to my personal router and will it make the security system work?
if this simple solution could work, I am surprised why it was not even mentioned by the agent. Please let me know

Hi user_6fc08c -

Yes, you should be able to connect the WNR1000 router to an available Ethernet port on your new TP link router.

After doing so, if your Xfinity Home broadband connection doesn't automatically restore, unplug power to your Modem, TP Link Router, and WNR1000 Security router and restore power in this order, giving each plenty of time to boot back up in between: Modem, TP Link Router, WNR 1000 Router.
