Xfinity Home Self-Protection Now Supports Door/Window and Motion Sensors in the Xfinity App

Great news for our Xfinity Home Self Protection customers!

We now support the pairing of Xfinity Home door/window sensors and motion sensors for Self-Protection customers who lease an xFi Gateway (models XB6 or newer).  These sensors are available for purchase at Xfinity Stores as well as through direct shipment by speaking with one of our representatives over the phone.

Pairing and viewing sensor status, setting notifications, and configuring events (such as turning on a Works with Xfinity light when a door opens) is all done right through the Xfinity App with Self Protection.

Some further details and requirements are listed in the following articles:

Note: for Xfinity Home Professionally monitored systems, initial installation of door/window and motion sensors requires a professional installation with a qualified Xfinity Home technician to pair the device with the Touchscreen.

How does that affect customers who have stopped their Protection plan and have these window, door and motion sensors as well as Wi-Fi bulbs and outlet controllers but have turned in a rented touchscreen? Can those items be added as smart devices?
