Xfinity home security touch screen has a built in mic

I was told by an Xfinity technician that the home security touch screen has a built in mic, but it's shut off by default. But upon going through the menus there's nowhere I see where to turn it on or off. So how is one to tell if the built in mic is actually off?

Hello @user_3m1hy2 While it is true that there are built in microphones in the touchscreens and they are disabled by default. We currently have no option to enable or disable it in the app because currently the touchscreen does not use any voice features that require one. They were placed inside the touchscreens in case in the future we develop features that would utilize it. At that time a toggle to enable or disable would become available.

Can you point out where the mic is on the touchscreen?

@user_3m1hy2 The built-in microphone on the Xfinity Home Touchscreen Controller is located behind a small pinhole on the front bezel of the device, typically near the top edge or lens area.
