Xfinity home security system
We have all of a sudden lost our ability to arm and disarm home security system remotely. This happened due to adding services to our Xfinity account at the Xfinity store. After two days of fighting with Xfinity automated system, I was able to get hold of a real person who directed me to the Xfinity home security department. The number is 877-709-8831. When I called this number, it was fairly easy to connect to a live agent. They knew exactly what I was experiencing and connected me to the technical expert. it turned out that at the store somehow our account was reset and we lost the capability of the remote activation. The person reset our account and I had to uninstall and install back Xfinity home and Xfinity purple app. Now both of them are operating properly. I was told that Xfinity purple app will not provide the Remote activation, unless there are cameras installed through Xfinity. I hope this helps everyone who gone through a miserable experience as I did of trying to figure out what happened.
