Subject: Dispute of $100 Technician Fee - Lack of Disclosure & Senior Accessibility Request
Hello,
I am writing to formally dispute a $100 technician service fee that was applied to my account following a recent home visit to replace a battery in my Xfinity Home sensor. I am requesting that a billing supervisor review this case and issue a $100 courtesy credit to remove this charge immediately.
I am a senior citizen with physical mobility and reaching limitations. Because the sensor is mounted out of my safe physical reach, I am completely unable to change the battery myself. I called for assistance in good faith, and at no point before or during the scheduling of the technician visit was I informed that changing a system battery would trigger a $100 professional service charge.
Charging a vulnerable customer a $100 fee for a basic safety maintenance task due to a physical accessibility barrier—without any prior disclosure or consent—is not reasonable.
As a loyal customer, I ask that you look into my account, review the lack of prior fee disclosure for this visit, and credit the $100 back to my balance.
Thank you for your time, understanding, and prompt assistance with this matter. I look forward to your response.
