Smoke detector replacement after expiration
The US Fire administration says all smoke detectors should be replaced after 8-10 years. The NAtional Fire Protection Association says before 10 years. By that time the detectors lose their effectiveness. The test button just tests the electronics.
My Xfinity Home system is 9 years old. So I need to begin thinking about this. What is the Xfinity plan for replacement? I cannot find anything on the website. I am sure that Xfinity would not want customers out there with expired detectors and a burned down house.
