Replacement power adaptor plug too big to replace old one

I got the replacement power adaptor for Xfinity Home Security Touchscreen, but the new one has a 90 degree angled plug (the old one is straight). Unfortunately that will not fit through the hole in my wall to connect to the power outlet in my garage. I could drill the hole 3 times as big, but that won't work for me either (note the length of the hole is about 10").

Xfinity support suggested I order a DC extension cord, but that didn't work either, it didn't fit the unit (hole too small). Why would they change the connecting plug specification? It certainly is not an easy plug and play exchange for me. Do I really need to cancel my Home Security for their mistake?

Hi @spotnofy I'm sorry to hear about the dilemma we have with the replacement adaptor for the home security screen. I'm sure it would be an eyesore if you were to drill a hole that large. I can see if we have a different model touchscreen available that may help out. Please send us a direct message with your name and service address.
