Rechargeable outdoor camera

Are there any future plans for a rechargeable outdoor camera?I picked up the video doorbell to replace the Ring that chimes in the middle of the night but I have at least one area that is  in need of an outdoor camera where I do not have access to an outlet to plug a device in.

Lkpolo, Hi there! Thanks for takign the time to visit XFINITY over forums for help with seeing if we have any rechargeable outdoor cameras in our future plans. This would be a great product to have but unfortunately, we do not have any plans at this time. However, we are always striving for technological innovation so please feel free to check back with us in the future. Another option would be to do what I had to do recently for my garage. I had an indoor outlet installed at least 12 feet from the desired location. Here is also a great link to a cool video on installing one of our home security cameras. How does this sound?

I do have an indoor outlet within 12 feet of where I want an outdoor camera. My home is brick exterior. We would have to take a chance to drill through brick and drywall and hope we don’t hit a stud or electrical wiring. To install an outlet outside would work but there is no shelter for the outlet. The GFI would always be tripping. One camera is over the garage but we found some wood trim to drill through and plug in at the interior garage wall. The other camera is plugged in outside but it is under the porch roof so it gets cold but not wet. We ended up purchasing a video doorbell so that is the option for the front yard but we have a large front yard that goes down hill to a road. We can’t see the road from the doorbell camera. But we could if we have a camera in the colonial trim above the front door.

@Lkpolo We do not have any plans for a rechargeable outdoor camera at this time, I use an Xfinity Home camera hooked up at my home. I had an electrician come out and install a covered outlet outside that we can plug the camera into. That may be an option for you.
