Internet Intermittent

Internet intermittently cutting out.  It all started after I installed a new router that Xfinity asked if I'd like one sent to me.  I installed it a few weeks ago.  Internet started cutting out every so often.  This past weekend I returned from out of town to find out my home network was wiped out.  I've spent over 10 hours dealing with the situation, including a technician who came by yesterday.  He was here for several hours trying to diagnose the situation, which included him checking things out inside and outside.  Seemingly, the new router is more sophisticated than the Xfinity system can handle at this time.  He got the internet up and running after trying to reinstall the old version of the router that I originally possessed but had returned to an Xfinity store.  The system would not accept the old version.  He reinstalled the new version.  Apparently, if the internet keeps cutting in and out (which IT DOES!), I need to get the new version replaced with another one of the new version, meaning the one I currently have may be defective.  I have dealt with several live agents who tried to be helpful, but to no avail. The live chat assistant/AI bot is insufferable as is the entire Xfinity website. Just attempting to see a breakdown of the services provided, on the bill, is a task in itself. Trying to get help on this site is horrible...FAQ's, chat bots, forums, self-help, live chat agents, etc...all designed to keep you away from speaking with a live person who is not from a foreign country.  I have more negativity to share, but I won't at this time.  Needless to say, I will possibly be CANCELING with Xfinity and go with a new competitor who has come into my locality.
