Failing Xfinity Home Smoke Detectors and no plan for replacements!
After cancelling these smoke detectors from their product line more than 2.5 years ago, there still is no apparent plan to bring them back to market. For a provider to abruptly stop selling these life-safety devices without a plan to reinstate them is woefully inadequate. Although Xfinity claims they will “service” existing units, I was told that a malfunctioning unit of mine was not repairable.lver these 2.5 years I have spent countless hours on the phone with Xfinity Home Technical and Sales reps, pleading for some type of indication as to what their plan was for replacing these devices. Not a single person I spoke with was able to provide even a shred of substantive information. I have many emails from The Office of Tom Karinshak, thanking me for my “valuable comments” and “understanding my frustrations”. I recently was put in touch with a “Specialist” at the corporate office. They were as useless as every other support person I’ve spoken with, saying that Product Engineering was responsible for communicating any information. I fail to see how no one within this billion dollar corporation cane give some relevant update about life saving devices that THEY sold, and somewhat still support. How can it take this long to find a replacement product? It’s beyond ridiculous. I’ve threatened to leave before. I can only hope that others will follow suit, share their struggles and frustrations on Social Media, and show this pathetic excuse for a company that our voices matter. I can’t wait to see what type of glad handing response this note generates.
