Delay During Night Arming

Is there a way to shorten the delay when arming the system at night? Presently, there is a two minute delay and  I feel this is too long. When I had ADT night mode would arm instantly. I have asked two techs if there was a way to shorten this arming period? Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Homerec130 -

This is not currently a configurable setting. The delay is present to give you time to arm the system and then move to the area of your home that will not trigger the system, thus avoiding potential false alarms.

If it’s more just peace of mind that you would like in knowing the alarm is engaged once you’re in the bedroom, you could use the Xfinity Home mobile app to check your arming status - or if you have an X1 on a TV in that room, you can say “Xfinity Home, is my System Armed?” into your Voice Remote.

I don't see the logic of your explanation. When you arm the system at night, it arms all the external sensors and does not arm the motion detectors. The idea is to have the instant activation if one of the door or window sensors is tripped and still give you the ability to walk around the house. My prior alarm company had this - set the panel for night and it comes on instantly. Why can't Xfinity do the same.?

Technicians can set certain sensors to be active in Night Mode.  For example, you may want all first floor sensors to be active, while second floor sensors should be off, in case someone needs to get up to move around that floor in the middle of the night without tripping the alarm.

The delay also gives you time to open and close any doors that might have sensors on them; as an example, someone may have a sensor on a door that they need to open and close to get in to their bedroom after they've begun the Arm Night process.

I will pass along the feedback though that you'd like the feature to configure the delay on Arm Night mode.  Our goal is to balance the flexibility of the system while at the same time minimizing the number false alarms that are triggered.

Another option would be to to add in touchscreen and app an option to bypass/cancel wait time for any mode, and ARM instantly.

anyway I see no sense in delay for Night Time. It should be instant... If you want to delay just do it later in app !!
