Dealing w Home Security Remotely

My internet/tv/security are on seasonal hold.  My security system has been telling me daily via email that it is armed.  When I tried to access it via the phone app (on the Verizon system), I was notified that the touchpad is not connected to wi-fi.  So, what do I really have for security?  If there is a penetration of the system will the alarm go off? Will Comcast be notified?  Will I be notified (via the phone app OR email)?  Not clear to me.  I assume that if I operated the touchpad manually, the system will disarm.  And now I infer that I cannot remotely disarm the system.

Why is it so difficult to get what I need?  I guess what I need is the internet degraded to the minimum to operate the security system for six months...and the tv on seasonal suspension (I do not want to move the boxes).  Is that an option?  If so, it was not ever presented to me as one.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Hello @wms1946! Thanks for reaching out to us here on the Xfinity Forums for support.

Since you do have Xfinity Home Security services, you will retain basic internet speeds during your seasonal hold, to support your security system.

There is some limitation to your security services when it comes to live video feeds and remote control to non-core devices.

If you think there may be some sort of connection issue though, we can take a look from our end to see if there are any troubles that need to be addressed. Please send us a Direct Message with your first and last name as well as your service address so we can assist.

To send a Direct Message, please click on the chat icon on the top right of this page, next to the bell. Make sure to send the message to our singular handle "Xfinity Support" and we will get back to you ASAP.
