Connecting home security box directly to XB7

According to  Connect Xfinity Home to a New Wireless Gateway - Xfinity Support, I can connect my home security unit to the wireless gateway (in my case it is the Xb7).  Currently it is connected to the side car router. 

I went into the touch screen menu and there is no "connect to gateway" option.   

Is there a way to get this enabled so I can eliminate the need for side router ?
