Camera loses connection

My camera loses connection when it rains. I just went outside to see why and I'm seeing the cable is loose on the back of the camera. The brick shows no light either, but I know it works when I plug it in. I have the brick in a waterproof box because I cannot get it to reach indoors. I just got soaked trying to put my camera back online, and I hope I don't get sick as I have health issues. It only blinked red on each side a couple of times and then went dead. The light was solid white and then nothing. I NEED MY CAMERA. How can I get this fixed?
