Xfinity violating my 2 year contract
I signed up for 400mbps internet speeds for $75.25 a month for 24 months on May 23, 2023. Today I went to pay my internet bill and saw that my bill was $100.64 instead of the usual amount so I did a little research and and discovered my internet plan was upgraded to 600Mbps and that I was locked into a new 24 month contact at $100.64 a month without my permission and before the old 24 month contract even ended. When I contacted support about the issue I was very rudely told that they went ahead and upgraded me because the original 24 month promotion "ended early" and that they "no longer offered" my original internet plan and that I was now "locked" into the new 24 month contract at the new rate starting March 1, 2025. I'm moving in 3 months and comcast/Xfinity is not offered at the new address so I had no intention of renewing the my internet with comcast after May of this year and now I'm stuck because Xfinity decided to upgrade and renew my internet without my permission or notifying me and when I inquired as to if I could just cancel the internet I was very rudely informed that breaking the new contract that they signed me up for with out my permission early would cost me a fee of $300. So now I am stuck paying for internet for the next 24 moths because xfinity auto upgraded and renewed my contract without my permission. I now view Comcast/ Xfinity as [Edit: Inflammatory].
