Xfinity Unable to Provide Advertised Internet Service
Hello - Has anyone else experienced Xfinity being unable to provide the internet service advertised? This is not about a speed test, but I changed my service via their online portal to 1300Mbps on June 22nd. This was advertised and offered as an option at my address where I have been receiving service for years. I was able to pick up a new gateway and set it up and there appeared to be no issues. In July I saw my service was still at 1000 Mbps per second and they were billing me at a higher rate than the offer I signed up for online.
I spent 2 hours on the phone with customer support to find out that the 1300 Mbps was not actually available at my address and the best they could do is provide 1200 Mbps. I believe this is called false advertising or bait and switch, not sure which. After getting my service switched to 1200 Mbps, I was told they would give me a monthly Customer Loyalty Discount, but it could not be applied for 24 hours after the service change. Keep in mind this service change occurred weeks after it should have.
I called back after 24 hours and spoke to an extremely unhelpful agent who told me the prior agents could not have offered what they did as the system would not have allowed it and they would be fired if someone listened to the conversation. I don't believe her, as they had sent me the offer with the Customer Loyalty Discount via text, so the system allowed it and at the end the agent hung up on me without helping.
Now I am try to get support through the direct messaging and the agents respond every 10 minutes or so and ask me to repeat the same information over and over again.
Has anyone else experienced a nightmare like this?
