Xfinity stream

I have the Xfinity Stream app but I can't watch local broadcast channels (i.e. NBC, CBS, ABC). Am I supposed to have access to these or do I need a TV subscription? If I am supposed to have access, why can't I? I've rebooted my modem and checked that my devices are on the wifi network and I can't get local channels anywhere.  Please help

HI there @user_f0ybtp Thank you so much for reaching out on our Xfinity Community Forum about accessing your local channels.  I'll be happy to assist.

To watch local broadcast channels like NBC, CBS, and ABC using the Xfinity Stream app, you need to have them included in your Xfinity TV service. If they are part of your subscription, you should be able to access them. If not, you may need a TV subscription that includes these channels to watch them through the app.

How do I check what my current subscription is?

To check your current subscription on Xfinity, follow these steps:

  1. Press the Info button on your remote while watching the channel, then select My Subscription.
  2. Alternatively, say the channel name into your Xfinity Voice Remote and choose Manage My Subscription

I can also check the details of your service.  If you'd like me to take a look at your account, please follow the steps below to send a direct message.

How to Send Us a Direct Message:

1.  Click "Sign In" if necessary.

2.  Click the "Direct Messaging" icon.

3.  Click the "Start new conversation" (pencil and paper) icon.

4.  In the "To:" line, type "Xfinity Support".

5.  As you type, a drop-down list will appear. Select "Xfinity Support" from that list.

6.  A "Xfinity Support" graphic will replace the "To:" line.

7.  Type your message in the text area near the bottom of the window.

8.  Press Enter to send it.

I have Xfinity Stream a part of my wifi service  I don't have cable. Does that limit local live channels (like what my antenna picks up)?

You must have a cable package in order to have access to those local channels.  @user_f0ybtp
