Xfinity says I need to return their equipment and it turns out it is a Motorola DTA box that I don't know we ever had any use for
I cancelled Xfinity service for 3 different locations recently, and I have been getting text messages that I need to return Xfinity Equipment. The text has a link but when I select it, it does not tell me what device they're talking about. I had 3 different Xfinity accounts and I could not find equipment on any of them. I took what I had up to the Xfinity store, and they looked it up, and said what I brought were my own cable modems, and said I need to return a Motorola DTA 1way box on a business account.
We only used Xfinity for internet, and the Motorola box appears to be for TV service. Maybe there was a promotion that gave us internet and TV for less than internet alone at one time. We never used any TV service. Is this device even worth anything to Xfinity, or is it just an excuse to charge us for something they are going to throw away?
It would have saved me over an hour of wasted time if they had put the device and account name in the text message.

Concern moved here to the Customer Service help section for greater exposure to Comcast corporate employees (The Digital Care Team) for assistance.

Greetings, @user_cd7322! I hope your week has been treating you well. Thanks so much for taking a moment out of your busy day to leave a post on our community forum about this Motorola DTA. You have definitely come to the right place for assistance.
If you could send our team a direct message with your full name, the name listed on these accounts (if different), and the service addresses associated with your accounts, I'd be more than happy to look into this for you.
To send a Direct Message, please click on the “Direct Message” icon in the top-right corner of the screen, next to the bell icon, click the "New message" (pencil and paper) icon, then type or select "Xfinity Support". Type your message in the text area near the bottom of the window and press Enter to send your message and initiate a live session.
