Xfinity representative almost conned my Elderly Mother out of $4,000 and have her deposit in a hawala which supports terrorists!

There are no words to explain the rage that I’m experiencing right now. I walked in on a speaker call that my Mother was on with a supposed Xfinity customer service representative. She was all flustered and yelling, so I started listening. She was supposed to be getting a $40 refund, but the person deposited $4,000 into her checking account. He used her own money from her credit card, took a cash advance, and deposited her own money into her checking account!!! I’m still trying to figure out how he got into her computer and hacked her information, or if she just gave him enough information to get it? Because she was getting all confused. That’s the con. He made her fear that because of the mistake of refunding her the $4K that Xfinities bank would freeze her checking account and she wouldn’t have access to her own account for months. It wasn’t even a refund from Xfinity! It was her money that he stole and deposited into her checking account! I’m so [Edited: "Language"] off because I have problems with Xfinity customer service. So I can see how easy it would be to get an elderly person confused. Of course she lives on a fixed income. I think it’s horrific to take from weak people. Poor elderly people. This is not the first time someone has tried to con her when she’s called the phone number on her bill. They keep sending her to other extensions. So these are the out of the country contractors that Xfinity uses to save money. The store that he was giving her an address to has a hawala bitcoin transaction machine! People are known to use those to support terrorism. What is going on right now with the war and all of these hate groups. Xfinity needs to do a security sweep. They’re being used to steal from elderly people, uneducated people, so on to support terror!!! I WOULD NOT keep them accept that’s what our HOA uses. There’s really no other option that wouldn’t cost us more money to get. I’m disgusted. Somebody needs to make changes with the way Xfinity operates. I’m reporting this incident to the feds. He had her keep him on the phone and he’d talk her through what to do when she got to the store.

@user_g02492, Thank you for taking the time to reach out to us using the Xfinity Forums. First and foremost, I want to acknowledge how horrifying this experience must have been for both you and your mother. I want to start by saying it sounds like a scam caller pretended to be a representative from Xfinity in order to procure funds. What we want to do is get this reported to our Customer Security Assurance (CSA) team who personally address instances of potential fraud. They will be able to take a deeper look into this issue to help ensure it is not repeated moving forward. Here is a link to the webpage with contact details you can use to reach our CSA team directly.
