Xfinity Pro?

I'm attempting to cancel my Xfinity TV service and keep only the 1Gig internet connection.  The representative I reached on the telephone gave me a plan that includes a $15 charge for Xfinity Pro.  I asked about this, and she said it was an "extender"  for the Internet, but couldn't explain it beyond that.

I have my own cable modem and router - all I need is the 1Gig Internet service - which was priced at $100/month (with automatic payments).  Is Xfinity Pro a required part of the Internet service?  If so, what is it exactly?
