Xfinity number called me after 8:00pm est.

Someone claiming to be from Xfinity’s customer retention center told me my name and asked if my router was fine. I told him it was fine and he said great, have a great day. Should I be concerned/worried? No personal information was given, but he did know my name.

Hello @user_07e7be, thanks for reaching out for help and to express your concerns.

From what you have explained I don't see any reason to be worried, but it definitely never hurts to ask. By chance have you reached out recently, or did any troubleshooting via your Xfinity App that might have prompted anyone to contact you? In some cases, if we get reports that a customer may be having issues, we have teams that will text or call our customer to ensure everything is working.

Outside of that, this doesn't seem like any of the known scams we are aware of, but we can always take a closer look at your account if you like.

I had some troubleshooting as well as re-opening my account to get a student discount plan. My only concern was why I was receiving a call past 8:00pm est. I understand there are offices around the world who may call people elsewhere but I think a system should be put in where non-US based customer service is not calling US based customers.

Gotcha, thanks for the clarification on that! This would definitely explain why you received the call, and I am sorry it was later than expected. Most of our teams work until 12:00 AM EST, and while we generally don't place calls that late, we will definitely take this feedback into consideration and appreicate you taking the time to chat with us.

Should you need assistance with anything else in the future, please don't hesitate to make a new post here. Our entire community is available to ensure you get the help you need.
