Xfinity Mobile Hotspot

Yesterday, I had left the house for a bit and came back to being automatically connected to my actual Wi-Fi than the hotspot which is what I am usually on. It won't let me reconnect to it as when I try to connect, it gets stuck on "Obtaining IP address". This hasn't happened before and I'm worried this will affect me and my Wi-Fi plan.

dragonlaw That's interesting behavior you're seeing with your Wi-Fi connection. It's actually by design that your phone would automatically connect to your home Wi-Fi network when you're within range. Think of it this way: your home Wi-Fi is usually the strongest and most reliable connection you have. When you're out and about, your phone will typically connect to Xfinity hotspots to help you stay connected on the go. And as a backup, you also have your cellular data. The "Obtaining IP address" issue when trying to reconnect to the hotspot at home might be a temporary glitch. Could you try restarting your phone and see if that helps it connect to the hotspot again?

Rest assured, this automatic connection to your home Wi-Fi shouldn't negatively impact your overall Wi-Fi plan. Your home network usage is separate from your use of Xfinity hotspots when you're out of the house.
