Xfinity Messages

I just received a message that xfinity is closing all old email accounts and wants me to upgrade. Is this a scam ????

Hello, @user_hfyrxg thank you for taking time to create a post. You've contacted the right place to get your email question answered, and found this great forums post about Xfinity emails: https://forums.xfinity.com/conversations/email/comcastnet-email-is-going-away/66ba58731466ce252a8892fe.

We did stop providing email addresses for new users, but existing Xfinity emails can still be accessed. You just need to continue to log in maintain access. We did send out notifications if a password reset may be needed, I noticed a lot of those were for secondary email addresses.

You shouldn't need to upgrade anything to maintain access to existing emails. Going through the replies on that email post. I did see a reply about 3/4 down the first page that some said they received a similar email and doesn't look to be one from us. The best way to tell if it will be a legitimate Xfinity email, it will have our logo visible before clicking on the email. This document has a great photo of the icon you should see: https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/comcast-verified-email

Please let me know if that information is helpful.
