Xfinity has refused to bury a faulty underground line and has left a 300ft cable across my yard for almost a year

I have exhausted all options so I'm turning to the forums before I seek legal assistance. Around October 2023, an Xfinity crew determined that there was a faulty underground line running from the access box in my yard to the next access box to my neighbor. They told me they would need to lay a "temporary" cable all the way around my home; from the street on the west side of my home, along the west side to the back of my lot, across the south side of my property, then along the east side of my home from the back to the front, to the access box near the street. I was told that a crew would be out to bury the line within a few weeks. It still lays across my yard. I have contacted Xfinity at least 6 times since the spring 2024 began. Three times someone came out to look at the cable, each one seemingly ignorant about the problem and always surprised that this was done this way as it is not a normal practice. However, I never hear back and nothing is ever done to bury this cable. I have gone to the city to report the issue and I am now considering if there is a legal avenue I can take.  This cable is a hazard as it sits above the ground, in danger of being caught in a mower blade. It was laid next to a children's play structure where it is a tripping hazard.

I have run out of options since Xfinity seems to be refusing to address this issue. Every call I make, they simply create a new ticket (they never allow me to provide the previous ticket number). I'm curious what others would do in this situation. Should I, as a last resort, cut the line and ball all the cable up and leave it in the street? This would at least force Xfinity to do something as it would knock out my neighbors internet and leave hundreds of feet of their cable in the street. I have already begun testing AT&T's Air internet service and it seems to be working well enough to not care if cutting the cable knocks out my service. I can simply cancel my service with Xfinity.

I hope my experience serves as a warning to anyone considering XFinity services that their customer service is easily one of the worst in any industry. Look for alternatives before you choose XFinity or before you have any exterior issues that require infrastructure repairs. You will not receive a level of service you would expect for the money you pay for their services. Here are some pics to show what Xfinity did and refuses to address.

UPDATE: 07/13/2024 - Well Xfinity finally got the people out to run the new line underground. However, they didn't remove the 300+ feet of cable running around my house and through my yard. My guess is it took almost a year to get them to install the new line to replace the old one, so it'll probably be another 6 months to get them out to hook up the line they buried and get this eyesore of a cable out of my yard and away from children and yard equipment. I'll update this when all the work is done. But in summary, they laid this above ground line across my yard in October 2023 and it took until a few days ago for them to address the underground line replacement. However, they still have not removed the above-ground line.
