xfinity gateway discount expiring

Hello. I have had discount on service and on an xfinity gateway that ends on 6/2/2025. I received a message saying that the service discount has been extended - Great! Thank you! However, I didn't get any information re: the discount on the Xfinity gateway. If that discount won't be extended, when do I need to tell Xfinity that I won't keep it to avoid being charged. Thank you!

Good afternoon! Were you looking to use your own equipment once the discount on the Xfinity gateway ends? If so you could swap our gateway for your own and return ours to a local Xfinity store. Once returned it would be removed from your account. If you do not have your own equipment, we could take a look to see what other service options, may best suit your needs. Does that assist with your concern?

@XfinityJon​ Thank you for your speedy response. Yes, I would switch to my own Arris SB6183 Modem.  Are you saying that I don't need to inform Xfinity in advance? And if I return the Xfinity gateway before 6/2/2025 (when the discount ends) that I won't be charged for another month? I know that some charges are posted a month early.
