Xfinity DVR box reads “cast”

We had a big storm here yesterday and now we have no cable. Our DVR box in the living room reads “cast” and our modem is blinking orange. We have tried, unsuccessfully, to call Xfinity for assistance. They can’t even send a tech out until 8 days from now. Any suggestions?
