Xfinity customer support

My telephone voice service through Xfinity has been inoperative since Friday, March 17th, after "upgrading" gateway hardware. It took hours to get that done, most of that time trying to reach an agent. Now my phone service does not work and I am given the "A.I." runaround trying to get it fixed. If I cannot get this phone service restored in 24 hours from this date, I will end phone service from Xfinity and return to AT&T.....

"Search for Xfinity Support" won't work. To send a "Direct Messaging" message to Xfinity Support:

  • Click "Sign In" if necessary
  • Click the "Direct Messaging" icon or https://forums.xfinity.com/direct-messaging
  • Click the "New message" (pencil and paper) icon
  • The "To:" line prompts you to "Type the name of a person". Instead, type "Xfinity Support" there
  • As you are typing a drop-down list appears. Select "Xfinity Support" from that list
  • An "Xfinity Support" graphic replaces the "To:" line • Type your message in the text area near the bottom of the window • Press Enter to send it

An area phone service outage was later reported and fixed. This outage coincided with a gateway upgrade done days before at my house. The interactive webpage and subsequent app effort to discover the source of the problem unfortunately wasted days of time. However, my congrats to the trouble shooters for eventually getting service back. Interactive webpages and apps can only do so much.
