Xfinity Customer Care Made Promises They Failed to Fulfill

I contacted Xfinity through chat simply to check the progress of my new iPad order, but during that conversation the representative repeatedly urged me to accept or redeem a $299 Apple Watch reward that required a monthly cellular plan. I clearly explained that I do not have an iPhone connected to Xfinity and that I would only be interested if the Apple Watch could be activated as a standalone cellular device using my preferred phone number, which is ready to be ported. The representative explicitly confirmed that the Apple Watch could be activated standalone and that my preferred number could be used, so based on that assurance I ordered the watch, paid the taxes, and agreed to the monthly cellular service fee. The watch is now activated as a standalone device with no iPhone connected to it, but Xfinity did not fulfill the most important part of what was promised: activating my preferred number. I contacted Xfinity customer care four different times trying to resolve this. During my first contact through chat and my second contact by phone with very long hold, I was assured the request would be handled, but later learned that no ticket or service request had even been created. On my third contact, a ticket was finally created and I was again assured the request would be completed. On my fourth contact, after all the waiting and repeated promises, I was suddenly told that using my preferred number was not possible and that I had to keep the random number assigned by the system. I am asking Xfinity to review the original chat and calls, honor what was explicitly promised, or provide a fair resolution.
