Xfinity contractors tortured my dog and cost me hundreds of dollars

On 11/20/2024 I received a message from Infinity informing me that my backyard has been successfully marked by Colorado 811 and was ready for groundwork, specifically the new cable can now be buried. The message also mentioned that I will be receiving another notification when the work gets scheduled.  For the record, I never received that notification.  On 11/22/2024 Xfinity contractors showed up while my wife and I were not home, and our dog, 10-year-old Bella (the friendliest and most submissive dog EVER) was in the backyard.  To keep Bella out of their way the contractors put her up on the back deck and to ensure she stayed there they blocked off access to the deck stairs by placing a lawn chair at the bottom of the deck stairs.  When they completed the work, they left and did not remove the lawn chair from the bottom of the stairs, leaving Bella's access to the backyard blocked.  When we got home later that day, we let Bella into the house as we normally do via the back deck door.  Given the deck stairs are off to the side, we did not see the lawn chair at the bottom of the stairs.  During the next two and a half days we would let Bella out via the back deck door as we normally do several times per day so she can potty and hangout in the backyard.  We noticed that Bella wasn't the same dog and that she was constantly crying and whimpering.  When inside Bella would hide from us and when we did see her, she always had her tail between her legs, which is very much opposite of the normal wagging tail and happy demeanor.  It wasn't until early afternoon on 11/24/2024 that we figured out what the issue was, specifically when my wife went down to the basement (we don't spend very much time in the basement at all) and discovered two and half days of dog waste.  At this point, Bella became even more upset as she now knew that we discovered her mess and she thought she was in trouble, which of course she was not.  In addition to the major cleanup efforts, the solid and liquid dog waste ruined a big chunk of the basement floor which will now cost us hundreds of dollars to repair and replace.  There were two major mistakes made here by Xfinity.  One, not notifying my wife and I about the time and day of the scheduled work.  Had we known this, we would have made sure to leave Bella inside the house during that time.  Two, the Xfinity contractors not removing the lawn chair from the bottom of the deck stairs that they placed there earlier. Removing the lawn chair and putting it back to where they got if from would have been the logical thing to do and would have prevented Bella from her torturous experience and saved us a lot of money.  Xfinity and its contractors really dropped the ball here to say the least.  Their actions were not professional and most importantly, they are unacceptable.

Any suggestions as to what my wife and I can do next to prevent another Xfinity customer from having such awful experience and hopefully recover the incurred expenses?
