Xfinity Chat asking for social security number---fraud

This isn't really a question but it's something strange and fraudulent that I noticed. My Xfinity Chat (did not introduce himself) asked me for my social security date in order to get a promotional deal. It was very strange and sketchy!

a similar instance happened to me as well, I was given a promotion to increase range on my current iphones while trying to fix a completely different issue and was sent a link to provide my DOB and SS# just wondering if xfinity actually uses this website that was sent https://iguard-po-1pp.slb.comcast.com

@user_f5afac Hello, we don't typically ask for that information via chat for security reasons, but we can certainly look into this further if you would like. Can you please create your own post detailing the experience, so we can assist further?

I no longer work for Comcast.

Did you ever end up getting an answer for the question about the link provided via chat? I had a similar situation when I asked about updating my payment method when I kept getting “unable to update payment authorization, too many failed attempts” messages. Definitely questioning the authenticity of that chat now.
