Xfinity Chat Agent Tried to Run an illigal hard credit check on my account
I was signing on for a mobile line and had questions about discounts, so I started the chat with an agent. But he tried to run hard credit check and asked me to unfreeze my credit files. I asked him why he needs it and he told me the system needs it and asked me repeatedly to unfreeze my credit. I closed the chat and ordered my lines on their website and it did not need any hard credit check. The website didn't asked me to unfreeze my credit file.
two huge problem xfinity:
1. Why do you run hard credit check without customer consent?
2. Why your agent run hard credit check while the product does not need it and you can order it without?
If I had any other option in my area for internet, I would never use xfinity for shady customer service. Every time I talked to them, they bring it to a new level.
