Xfinity charges you if you keep the indoor equipment but refuses to take the Outdoor Equipment unless you pay them too. Switch to at&t.
I came to customer service to try to get them to remove the unused cable lines dangling in front of all of my trees and bushes and impeding my yard work and the customer service conversation ended with them attempting to charge me to take the lines down that should have been taken down when service was canceled. AT&T came out for free to inspect the lines and saw that there was power in them which makes it unsafe for people to take them down themselves and identified them as Xfinity cable lines because they are rounded whereas AT&T's have a spiral pattern. Unlike xfinity, AT&T doesn't try to squeeze every penny from you or jack up prices even though you're under contract for a certain price. My service has never gone out with AT&T either. It is disgusting what Xfinity has turned into.

@user_k2g1w3 Your concerns are important to us. Once service has ended all equipment should be returned as its rental equipment. Our process is not to take down lines each time a customer disconnects in the event the next customer that lives there wants XFINITY the lines are already there and ready to go. Instead of removing the lines we deactivate the service. If our lines are hanging low etc. we can raise them and there's no charge for that. I can certainly meet you back in the direct message for more assistance and to schedule a tech to come out.

Do you not charge us to put the lines up even when they are already up within the fine print of your installation fees?
